Simon Weiss is considered to be one of Amsterdam’s biggest talents. A diamond in the rough, who’d rather spend time in his studio than on a dancefloor. This is probably on of the reason’s of Simon Weiss’ unique sounds. Not affected by hits or hypes, his sound is perfect blend between the old and the new, between the USA and Europe.
Releasing his first EP in 2011, Simon quickly got noticed by Rush Hour. In 2012 this resulted in the ‘Wave EP’, a full 12″ on Amsterdam’s most prominent label. Finding a perfect match between energy and emotion, the EP contained tracks suited for both clubs and bedrooms alike. With the Tomorrow/Worromot 10″, also distributed by Rush Hour, Simon took the creative process of releasing a record a step further; working together with a photographer and a graphic designer to create something completely unique. In 2015 the Amsterdam scene stalwart contributed to our Voyage Direct Series with his 2:48 EP and the the gloriously positive title track “Tele-Vision”, with it’s cyber-house fusion of darting synthesizer arpeggios, Detroit-influenced percussion, and thrusting acid bass, which already debuted on First Mission, Voyage Direct’s fifth anniversary compilation.
